Before Travis Kelce even proposed to Taylor Swift, the popstar had already penned lyrics hinting at her future plans with her now-husband.
On her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, Swift waxed poetic about her desire for a family.
‘Have a couple kids, got the whole block lookin’ like you,’ she sang on the melodic track Wi$h Li$t, widely understood to be an ode to the NFL star. ‘Got me dreamin’ ’bout a driveway with a basketball hoop.’
It’s a vision shared by Kelce, who previously told his brother Jason: ‘I see it in our future, for sure.’
And with the couple’s highly anticipated nuptials now in the rearview, speculation about their future as husband and wife – namely, whether they will have children – has kicked into overdrive.
But the Daily Mail has exclusively learned that some people close to the couple, both 36, are ‘not sure if they’re going to have kids or not.’
Taylor Swift recently said ‘I do’ to Travis Kelce, and now a source has revealed the challenges they face when it comes to starting a family
Swift has previously divulged concerns about having children because she felt they ‘couldn’t live a normal life’
‘She has such a security situation,’ an insider told the Daily Mail. ‘It’s hard to raise a kid in her world.’
And, according to our source, their relatives also ‘have concerns over security issues,’ as they, too, have ‘had people show up to their door.’
But it is Swift who seemingly suffers the most.
‘She gets so many death threats. There’s people that the FBI knows about. There’s people on a watchlist. There are people that they can’t even find, they can’t track down,’ the source added, claiming there have been about a dozen credible threats to harm the singer.
Indeed, court documents obtained by the Daily Mail last September revealed that a private investigator Swift hired had lost track of one of her many stalkers.
Brian Jason Wagner, whom Swift had a temporary restraining order against, disappeared, according to a declaration filed by Brooke Berg at the time.
A terror attack plot was also foiled at one of her concerts in Vienna, Austria, in 2024, forcing her to postpone dates.

Travis Kelce's wedding vows left Taylor Swift in tears: Guests reveal his words that made her cry

Then, on one of the biggest days of her life, Swift was restricted when choosing a wedding venue, settling on Madison Square Garden – a place that could afford her government levels of security, according to multiple insiders.
Swift has previously divulged her concerns about having children, telling InTouch in 2014 that she was on the fence because they ‘couldn’t live a normal life.’
‘It’s impossible not to picture certain scenarios and how you would try to convince them that they have a normal life when, inevitably, there will be strange men pointing giant cameras at them from the time they are babies,’ she said.
But perhaps Kelce will be able to reassure Swift, with a separate well-placed source claiming that he doesn’t share the same safety concerns and ‘isn’t scared.’

Leaked footage shows astonishing first look INSIDE Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding

What Swift and Kelce have both made clear, however, is that they are powerhouses in their respective fields – and there’s no signs of either one slowing down anytime soon.
Kelce, for his part, signed an estimated $12 million contract to return to play football for the Kansas City Chiefs this season in the hopes of winning another Super Bowl.
We are told that despite tying the knot over the Fourth of July weekend, they won’t have long to languish in early marital bliss, for Kelce will be attending training camp, which is scheduled to start on July 29. It will run until August 20, with the NFL season officially kicking off on September 9.
When Kelce is not on the field, he will likely be preoccupied with his business ventures, including 1587 Prime restaurant that he co-owns with his teammate Patrick Mahomes. They also co-own the Formula One team Alpine, and Kelce has various acting pursuits in addition to filming his podcast New Heights with his brother Jason.
Kelce has talked openly with Jason about starting a family on his podcast, discussing in a September 2025 episode how their mom, Donna Kelce, had ‘put some pressure on’ Kelce to have kids. After all, Jason, 38, and his wife Kylie, 34, already have four daughters, who were said to be the flower girls in Swift and Kelce’s wedding.
The episode’s guest, University of Colorado football coach Deion Sanders, then asked: ‘What you waiting on, Dad? So what you waiting on?’ Kelce, for his part, remained mum.
His busy schedule aside, Kelce may not be hit with baby fever just yet, since many of the men in his inner circle do not have children, our first insider said. His friends Ross Travis, Aric Jones and Kumar Ferguson appear to still be living the bachelor lifestyle.
Swift, meanwhile, has made it known that getting married will not lead to a career hiatus.
During an appearance on BBC Radio 2’s The Scott Mills Breakfast Show in October, the host said: ‘I just saw some fans going, “Well, she’s going to get married and then she’s going to have children and then that’s going to be the last album.”‘
Swift then called that remark ‘a shockingly offensive thing to say,’ adding: ‘It’s not why people get married … so that they can quit their job.’

Taylor's dorky and Travis is a golden retriever, but their sex secrets might shock you: JANA HOCKING

Even while planning her nuptials, Swift made time to make more music. She was seen going to the recording studio and also released the song I Knew It, I Knew You for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. A source recently said that Swift has been ‘working on a new album’ as well.
But after being on her record-breaking Eras Tour for nearly two years, the global popstar did confess on BBC Radio 1 that she planned to take a break from touring, saying: ‘I’m so tired.’
Since she’ll have a bit more time on her hands, Swift can be expected to further embrace her WAG role and cheer on Kelce from private suites at NFL games.
But as far as a the next ‘meaningful step’ in the relationship goes, an insider previously told the Daily Mail that Swift would take Kelce’s last name.
While she’ll always be Taylor Swift professionally, in her personal life ‘it’s a different story,’ the source said.
‘Taylor is very traditional, and when it comes to marriage, she’d love to take Travis’ last name,’ the source continued, adding that Swift is looking forward to ‘the idea of being Taylor Kelce.’
‘She sees it as a meaningful step, especially knowing it would also be the family name their future children would share.’
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Swift and Kelce for comment.
