Preparations for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s blockbuster wedding at Madison Square Garden appear to be well underway. In photos shot for the Daily Mail on Monday, large trucks were seen arriving at the iconic indoor arena – the home of the New York Knicks and the Rangers – as equipment was loaded into the venue. While the singer–songwriter and her NFL star fiancé, both 36, haven’t confirmed where their wedding would be held, the two are reportedly planning a ceremony at the Garden over the July 3 weekend, and the arrival of equipment seemed to confirm the location. The Daily Mail has reached out to Swift’s representative for comment. Rows of semi-trailer trucks were spotted parked outside the arena and had their doors open to reveal the contents. The entire loading area had been surrounded by metal security barriers, along with ‘No Parking’ signs stating that the area around the arena was off-limits from June 20 to July 4. Some appeared to be loaded with crates and what looked like racks of electronics, possibly for a musical performance.
Stage gear hints at Swift connection
There were also some visible hints that the trucks were related to Swift’s upcoming nuptials, including a sign on equipment being unloaded that read, ‘Return to Nashville.’ The trucks appeared to have signs taped above the doors to the trailers reading ‘TAIT 1 – AUD DECK’ and ‘TAIT 2 – VER.’ ‘TAIT 2’ appears to refer to a stage equipment transportation system that was developed by TAIT Towers. According to the manufacturer, the units are modified shipping containers that house heavy audio, lighting, and stage automation equipment.
Hidden audio gear streamlines stadium setup
The containers are fully functional and feature built-in lifts that allow the enormous speakers and mechanical equipment to be directly lifted into a performance-ready configuration. The system has been used in major tours, including Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour. They proved to be particularly beneficial for her shows, as the low-key shipping containers could save time and space when it came to set-up, and they also helped to disguise their true purpose. One of the signs indicated the trailer was filled with the ‘AUD BUILD DECK,’ which appeared to refer to audio equipment for the celebration. Multiple forklifts were seen unloading the equipment, much of which was wrapped up in large tarps to obscure its purpose.
Jet Sets crates arrive with fake grass
Several equipment crates were plastered with flyers decorated with a skull and crossbones that indicated they were the ‘Property of Jet Sets.’ The flyers had the phone number of a Los Angeles–based company of the same name that creates lavish sets and scenery for high-profile live events. The Daily Mail has reached out to Jet Sets for comment but has not yet received a response. Among the pallets being carried into Madison Square Garden was one that appeared to have a large roll of green carpet that could be unrolled to create a fake grass effect.
Mirror ball crate hints at Folklore
In addition to signs for the scenery company, there also appeared to be equipment from a transportation company, a lighting service, and a company that specializes in piping and draping, according to Page Six. One crate spotted by the publication had ’40” Mirror Ball’ printed on the side, which may have been a reference to Swift’s Top 40 hit Mirrorball, which was featured on her 2020 surprise album Folklore. In December, she revealed in an interview with Stephen Colbert that the tune – one of only a handful of Folklore songs that she co-wrote with Jack Antonoff – holds a special place in her heart, as she considers it one of the best songs she has written to date.
Vendors hide names as secrecy grows
While some vendors didn’t seem to have any issue with making their connection to Swift’s apparent nuptials public, some appeared to have their business names covered up or blacked out for extra secrecy. Workers at the scene whom Page Six spoke to claimed to be in the dark about what the setup was for. ‘We aren’t told anything. Everything is so tight-lipped,’ one worker told the publication. Ahead of the highly anticipated event, John F.
Wedding planner doubts MSG ceremony
Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s wedding planner – who pulled off their secret nuptials in 1996 – weighed in on the rumors that Swift and Kelce are to be married soon. ‘I don’t think it’s gonna be at MSG. I don’t,’ RoseMarie Terenzio predicted on CBS Mornings on Monday. ‘I could see her doing something for her fans at MSG,’ Terenzio stated, ‘She has such an emotional connection to her fans, and she understands that relationship so well that I think there’ll be something for the fans.’ Swift and Kelce have not confirmed a wedding date or venue, and and the pop star usually announces any public events.
Swift and Kelce wedding buzz grows
Terenzio guessed that Swift and Kelce could be married already. ‘I think it’s amazing. People are so invested in those two and I think they’re really invested in them having their moment, I really do,’ the Fairy Tale Interrupted author emphasized. She mused, ‘Their effervescence as a couple – they’re always cheering each other on. I just think people are invested in giving them a beautiful wedding.’ Referencing her experience helming Kennedy and Bessette’s surprise ceremony, the public relations expert said the trick is to only tell ‘people you know very well.’
Decoys and secrecy secure Kennedy wedding
She also suggested the use of decoys to throw off sleuths, and refraining from sending texts, emails, or any other written correspondence. She advised that all communications be done ‘by phone or in person.’ Terenzio shared that when she orchestrated the Kennedy wedding, ‘We left itineraries for Ireland around the office.’ Back in 1996, Terenzio pulled off the impossible with Kennedy Jr and Bessette managing to evade press and marry undetected on Cumberland Island in Georgia. Media outlets missed the marriage, which took place in a chapel without electricity on the secluded, undeveloped barrier island.
Swift’s wedding guest list stays secret
Only 40 guests were present. The feat is largely proclaimed as one of the world’s most successful secret weddings. Terenzio said she’s confident the hitmaker and Kansas City Chiefs sensation will manage to keep their wedding details under wraps. ‘I think those two could do it, and especially her,’ she added. ‘She just has such savvy about everything that she does and I think she could do it.’ A source told NBC News that 1,100 guests have RSVP’d and are expected to attend Swift’s July 3 wedding, and that they were required to sign an NDA before receiving electronic invites.
Venue secrets spark local concerns
It’s been reported that wedding guests will not know the address until the morning of the event. In early June, an insider exclusively told the Daily Mail that the couple decided to ’embrace the spectacle’ of a giant wedding. Business owners in the highly congested MSG area later voiced concerns over a potential loss of revenue and security accommodations. According to TMZ, less than one month before the expected event, local bars and restaurants claimed they had yet to receive details regarding the major event that is sure to have an impact on their establishments.
