Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse accidentally revealed a key detail about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s looming nuptials on Tuesday.
So far Swift and Kelce have kept details of the wedding strictly under-wraps, even going so far as to phone guests instead of sending physical invitations for fear that details may be leaked.
While they are yet to confirm anything, Daily Mail previously revealed the pair plan to tie the knot on July 3rd in New York.
Whitehouse, when confronted by TMZ on Tuesday in DC, confirmed that the wedding is not taking place in the Ocean State.
‘I think she gave Rhode Island a pass,’ he said.
Swift owns one of the most expensive private homes in the state – a historic eight-bedroom mansion which she paid $17.7 million for in 2013.
Whitehouse said he ‘hoped’ he was wrong, but that Swift was not planning to get married there.
The local police chief, in separate comments, confirmed that the town is not preparing for any kind of wedding either.

Wedding guests were reportedly required to RSVP with a signed NDA when the save-the-date invites were sent out.
The celeb-filled guest list is rumored to include Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham and Suki Waterhouse, while word has it Swift is not inviting Blake Lively, Karlie Kloss or Miles Teller.

Kelce attended his first Eras Tour concert in July 2023 and – by September that year – the 14-time Grammy winner was cheering him on at a football game alongside his mother Donna.
