Rhode Island senator Sheldon Whitehouse fueled rumors that Taylor Swift and her fiancé Travis Kelce would not be tying the knot there.
The 36-year-old bride-to-be happens to own the most expensive private home in the state – the historic eight-bedroom mansion High Watch in Watch Hill – which she paid $17.7 million for in 2013.
‘I don’t know about that,’ the 70-year-old Democratic politician told TMZ on Tuesday.
‘I think that she gave Rhode Island a pass. [But] I hope so, I’d love to have her in Rhode Island.’
Adding even more credence to the rumor was Westerly Police Department Chief Paul Gingerella – whose force handled security at Olivia Culpo’s nuptials – as he told the outlet Tuesday he nor the town have been informed of any Swift wedding.

Wedding guests were reportedly required to RSVP with a signed NDA when the save-the-date invites were sent out for the ceremony rumored to happen inside an arena or museum-like space.
The celeb-filled guest list is rumored to include Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham and Suki Waterhouse while word has it Swift is not inviting Blake Lively, Karlie Kloss or Miles Teller.
