Fans are convinced that Taylor Swift was secretly involved in Lady Gaga’s new album.

The Bad Romance songstress, 38, released her highly anticipated seventh studio album, Mayhem, on Friday.

But immediately after it dropped, many listeners started to theorize that Taylor, 35, might have helped write one of the tracks after they noticed some similarities between it and her old songs.

Some fans became convinced that Taylor contributed to Gaga’s catchy tune How Bad Do U Want Me.

And while she isn’t featured as a writer on the credits of the song, that hasn’t stopped X, formerly Twitter, from being flooded with posts wondering if the two hitmakers had secretly teamed up for a collaboration.

‘My theory is that Taylor secretly wrote How Bad Do U Want Me for Gaga… the production? The vocal style? The lyrics? It’s screaming 2014-2019 Taylor so bad,’ one person wrote.

‘How Bad Do U Want Me by Lady Gaga is so written by Taylor, produced by Jack [Antonoff] coded,’ agreed someone else.

‘Look me in the eyes and tell me How Bad Do U Want Me doesn’t sound like a Taylor Swift song…’ added another user.

‘How Bad Do U Want Me sounds like a Taylor song,’ read a fourth tweet.

A fifth said, ‘How Bad Do U Want Me is so good. Straight from the Eras Tour.’

If Taylor did play a hand in Gaga’s album, it wouldn’t be the first time that she collaborated with a musician in secrecy.

Back in 2016, she co-wrote the song This Is What You Came For with her then-boyfriend Calvin Harris under the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg.

In addition, when Joe Alwyn contributed to some of her tracks on her albums Folklore and Evermore, he was credited under the fake name William Bowery.

However, the writers for How Bad Do U Want Me are Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt, Henry Walter, and Michael Polansky, the same group that worked on practically all of the songs on Gaga’s album, so it’s likely none of them are fake names for Taylor.

Hours before the album dropped, a snippet of what appeared to be Taylor singing on the song circulated around the web.

Immediately, it took over X, sparking a massive rumor that the Cruel Summer singer was going to be featured on Gaga’s LP, but it turned out to be fake and created by AI.

Last year, Taylor publicly came to Lady Gaga’s defense after the 38-year-old posted a video shutting down pregnancy rumors.

She wrote in the clip, ‘Not pregnant – just down bad crying at the gym,’ which is a lyric from Taylor’s song Down Bad.

‘Can we all agree that it’s invasive and irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body?’ Taylor wrote in the comment section of the TikTok.

‘Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation and neither does any woman.’
