Nikki Glaser may be one of the biggest Swifties out there, but even she couldn’t bring herself to approach Taylor Swift at the Grammys.
The comedian, who was nominated for Best Comedy Album at this year’s ceremony, shared that despite spending nearly $100,000 on tickets to attend 22 shows on the Eras Tour, she deliberately held back from approaching the pop superstar at the February 2 event—out of respect for Swift’s time and energy.
‘Everyone wants a piece [of Taylor],’ Glaser explained on the Armchair Expert podcast. ‘I will never be the one to be like, “Excuse me”—ever. It’s almost rude.’
She acknowledged that while Swift would undoubtedly be kind, she didn’t want to add to the overwhelming attention.
‘There’s no way that she’s dying for that on a night like this where everyone’s doing it… and of course she would be so nice. I know exactly how it would go down,’ she continued.
Glaser even joked that her own fangirling might unintentionally disrupt Swift’s creative flow: ‘I just don’t want to take someone’s energy away that I require their energy to be put into making great music.’

She quipped, ‘That’s what I don’t want, her to make a less great song ‘cause she had to be like, “Nice to meet you,” and hold me as I’m crying. No, we don’t need that. I can’t bother her.’
And despite being a Grammy nominee, Nikkii couldn’t shake the feeling that she didn’t belong at music’s biggest night.
‘I feel like I don’t belong there. I don’t want people even noticing me to go like, “Why is she here?” Even though I was nominated for a Grammy.

‘But I didn’t win. I was so mad I didn’t win, only because I wanted to bring my Grammy to hold it [and] be like, “I belong,”’ Nikki admitted.
‘I just wanted to have a reason to be there. So, I was being very small, and then people were coming up to me being like, “Oh my God, I love you,” people I’m fans of!’
Even surrounded by industry giants, the comedian found herself trying to blend into the background—only to be reminded that she had every right to be there.
The podcast appearance comes after Nikki was slammed for her ‘pathetic and gross’ joke about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as she opened the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards.
The comedian left the audience and viewers reeling as she mentioned the disgraced star’s ‘freak-offs’ and the viral 1,000 bottles of baby oil claims.

Diddy, 54, who is in jail in Brooklyn, is set to stand trial in May and has been charged by federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York for sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Viewers branded the comments ‘horrible’ and said jokes about sexual assault and trafficking of minors only ‘poked fun at the victims’.
Nikki, who was hosting the awards show for the first time, mentioned Diddy when addressing Zendaya and her recent film Challengers.
She said, ‘Zendaya is here – Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune. Oh, my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good.’
The host continued: ‘And Challengers, girl? Oh, my God, that was so good. That movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.’
‘I’m sorry, I’m upset, too. The afterparty isn’t gonna be as good this year. But we have to move on – “Stanley Tucci freak-off” doesn’t have the same ring to it – no baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.’
