Newsmax host Greg Kelly has blasted fans of popstar Taylor Swift for ‘idolizing’ the singer, saying ‘it’s a sin’.
Swift attended the AFC Championship game in Baltimore on Sunday, where she watched her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs progress to the Super Bowl.
On Monday’s Greg Kelly Reports, the host said that while he did enjoy some of Swift’s songs, he doesn’t care for the ‘hardcore Taylor Swift fans’.
Kelly said: ‘They are totally over the top worshipping this woman. Have you seen any of the pictures of her in concert? I wouldn’t go myself.
‘I don’t do that kind of thing anymore. But I think what they call it is, they’re elevating her to an idol. Idolatry.

He added: ‘This is a little bit what idolatry, I think, looks like. And you’re not supposed to do that. In fact, if you look it up in the Bible, it’s a sin! So, I don’t like that.’
Kelly also added that he was ‘over this new boyfriend’, and called the relationship between Kelce and Swift a ‘publicity stunt’.
The host also echoed a theory that the Biden campaign will use the couple for an endorsement in the presidential election.
He added: ‘And she is going to use all of this popularity, potentially, against MAGA and for Democrats. She’s got a record of this stuff, a track record.’
In a recent poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek, 18 percent of voters say they’re ‘more likely’ or ‘significantly more likely’ to vote for a candidate endorsed by Swift.
Her sway was more visible with voters under the age of 35.
This election will see 8 million new voters in the US electorate – and a total of 41 million Gen Z voters, many of whom are influenced by celebrities and social media.
However, 17 percent said they would be less likely to vote for a candidate backed by Swift – which could bode badly for Democrat Joe Biden.
Although she has never publicly said who she votes for, in 2020 Swift vowed to kick Trump out of the White House with her vote.

Swift was wearing her hair in her Reputation-era curls, while also donning a cherry red Guest in Residence sweater during the game on Sunday.
During the game, she was spotted in one of the luxury suites, taking in the game with Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Also in the suite was Keleigh Sperry and Cara Delevingne as they cheered on the Chiefs and Kelce, who caught 11 passes for 116 yards against the Ravens.
After the game when the Chiefs punched their ticket to Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11, Swift was seen walking onto the field with Travis’ parents, Donna and Ed.
She ultimately made her way to Travis as they embraced several times on the field and shared a few kisses as well.
The pop star will most certainly be a presence in the luxury suites at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the home of Super Bowl LVIII.
However, the star may be quite tired, since, just a day earlier, she’ll be performing the last of three shows at the famous Tokyo Dome in Japan.
