The Kansas City native served as Miss Missouri Teen USA and Miss Kansas USA, and told FEMAIL that ‘pageantry has been an incredible learning experience,’ and she picked up plenty of beauty tricks along the way.
‘One of the most valuable lessons I learned is efficiency in the get ready process,’ Tavia shared. ‘Most of us have too many options in our makeup drawers – streamlining to what we actually use on a daily basis makes the getting ready process faster and more enjoyable.’
The stripped-down beauty approach led to Tavia valuing simplicity, which she said helps her stick to a routine.
The stunning former beauty queen washes her face with a gentle tea tree facial cleanser, tones with rose-scented witch hazel, and alternates antioxidant serums in the morning.
Tavia swears by ultra hydrating hyaluronic acid and makes sure to use a few drops of the cult classic Skinceuticals CE Ferulic ($182), before applying sunscreen every morning, which she rightfully promises ‘will bless your skin.’
Skinceuticals makes some of her favorite products, as well as the more affordable beauty brand The Ordinary and BeautyBio, which offers microneedling tools and science-backed skincare.
At night, Tavia applies peptide serums and resveratrol, which neutralizes free radicals and boosts antioxidant levels, as well as using retinol a few nights a week. The skincare superstar also uses organic, cold-pressed castor oil on her lashes and brows before bedtime, and makes sure to take quite a few vitamins.
‘I also believe that beauty begins on the inside with hydration, nutrition, and exercise, and that most of all, pretty is as pretty does,’ Tavia continued.
‘I’ve always taught my girls to look in the mirror at themselves the way you would someone you love very much – with kindness, appreciation, and affection,’ Tavia said
‘I want my daughters to be confidently beautiful,’ Tavia told FEMAIL
The skincare doesn’t stop with her face. ‘Supple skin makes you look fresh, so I moisturize my whole body with coconut oil, from my arms to feet, elbows to heels,’ Tavia advised.
When it comes to makeup, Tavia adores Cle de Peau Concealer ($75), Laura Mercier Translucent Powder ($47), and drugstore mascara, opting for Maybelline The Falsies Surreal Extensions ($9.98).
Tavia makes sure to remove her makeup every single night, which she said ‘gives your skin a chance to breathe, unclogs your pores, prevents breakouts and keeps skin healthy,’ and tells her two beautiful daughters to do the same.
‘I also implore them to get healthy sleep and make space for prayer or meditation,’ Tavia said. ‘This lowers stress and increases happiness – which is inherently beautiful.

‘We should all find a beauty routine that makes you feel healthy and beautiful and helps you to believe in yourself and what you’re capable of. Beauty is most obvious in how we carry ourselves, treat others, and make a positive impact in the world,’ Tavia, who’s also a mom to son Knobel Hunt, 20, divulged.
‘It’s been exciting to see Taylor embrace NFL apparel and how she uniquely showcases her fandom and style,’ Tavia told FEMAIL

Tavia has mastered looking glam on the sidelines all year long, which requires dressing for all sorts of weather predicaments.
To keep up with ever-changing weather, she plans ahead and makes sure to layer during the cold playoffs. Tavia told FEMAIL she often opted for a classic silhouette, on-trend accents, and, of course, a stylish hat.
Tavia has worn everything from a red beanie with a pompom to a glamorous black fur chapeau (which she reassured her Instagram followers was faux) as the temperatures dropped and the Chiefs reached the championship games.
While Tavia serves as major fashion and beauty inspiration to members of Chiefs Kingdom, she’s also been inspired by its latest devotee Taylor, who’s famously dating Travis Kelce.
The pop star has been impressing the crowd with a mix of vintage and custom Chiefs ensembles paired with designer wares.
‘It’s been exciting to see Taylor embrace NFL apparel and how she uniquely showcases her fandom and style,’ Tavia told FEMAIL.
‘She has beautiful taste and keeps it interesting between sporty chic and trendy fun vibes.
‘Most of all, I love how much Taylor enjoys game day and how her interest has introduced the Chiefs to so many new female fans.’
