Taylor Swift has said it is ‘shockingly offensive’ to claim once she is married she will stop making music as she heaped on praise to her ‘supportive’ fiancé Travis Kelce.

The pop star, 35, released her 12th album, The Life Of A Showgirl on Friday and confirmed it will not be her last record.

To the delight of fans, Taylor and Travis got engaged in August, with the NFL star splashing out between $700,000 and $1,000,000 on her sparkling ring.

Speaking to Scott Mills on his Radio 2 Breakfast show in a pre-recorded interview on Monday, Taylor debunked fan myths about her quitting the music industry.

She said: ‘No, this isn’t my last album, that is shockingly offensive. I’m not getting married to quit my job.

‘I love the person I am with him because he loves what I do and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.

‘That’s the coolest thing about Travis, like he is so passionate about what he does, that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us.

‘There’s no point in time where he’s going to be like, “I’m really upset that you’re still making the music”.’

She continued: ‘It is the most fun thing to be able to support each other and our jobs are so different but also its quite similar, like we both do three and a half hour shows in NFL stadiums.

‘When I do them its a dressing room and when he does it its a locker room. For him its practise and for me its rehearsal and we both have teams and we are both competitive.’

Asked whether she will be hiring a wedding planner, the Cruel Summer singer said: ‘I don’t know, I think that like I’m right now just really stoked about the idea that I get to marry this person.

‘And so I’m going to think about that and then I’m going to put out this album and then I’m going to think about other things after that. You know what I mean?

‘Just to put you into a window into the psyche of where I’m at right now because that’s a whole thing. But this is a whole thing, like talking to you about music that I’m really proud of’.

It comes after Cillian Murphy was called out for his ‘resting bored face’ while listening to Taylor talk about her engagement to fiancé Travis.

The Oscar-winning actor, 47, and the pop star both appeared on the Graham Norton Show on Friday evening alongside a panel of other stars.

However, fans quipped that Cillian looked less than impressed by the fanfare over Taylor’s recent wedding news, as she showed off her dazzling diamond ring.

Cillian has previously been mocked for his unimpressed facial expressions at public events, including during the Golden Globes where he picked up the Best Actor in a Motion Picture: Drama for his performance in Oppenheimer.

And his most recent chat show appearance paid no exception, as he promoted his new film Steve, about a head teacher at a reform school who struggles to keep his students in line – while also battling with his own mental health issues.

While Taylor was there to discuss her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, much was made over her engagement – but according to fans, Cillian was ‘performing mental gymnastics’ in order to get through the segment.

Asked by Graham when the wedding is happening, she said: ‘You’ll know. I want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan.’

Making light of his reaction to the chat, fans took to X to share their thoughts on the moment between the two celebrity heavyweights.

They said: ‘Resting bored face. I get it, Cillian; ‘Here for Cillian’s facial expressions’; ‘Is it me or does Cillian look like he didn’t give a s***, but tried to look like he did’; ‘Cillian is one of us!’; ‘Are were all here for Cillian’s face?’; ‘I can’t like these comments fast enough’;

She continued: 'It is the most fun thing to be able to support each other and our jobs are so different but also its quite similar, like we both do three and a half hour shows in NFL stadiums'

‘Poor Cillian, he cracks me up’; ‘Someone get poor Cillian off that couch with her’; ‘This is the highest level of facial expression we’ll ever see from Cillian’; ‘Cillian’s social battery is always at 10 per cent’.

‘And nobody could have expected anything less (or more) from him!’; ‘He is literally all of us with this kind of content’; ‘Find me something he does care about’; ‘Totally feeling him’; ‘Cillian reacts to everything like that lol’; ‘Another meme’.

Many of the comments suggested that this is nothing personal between Cillian and Taylor and he reacts to most things in the same lacklustre way.

For example, Cillian had a hugely successful night at the Golden Globes in 2024 as he won Best Actor in a Motion Picture: Drama for his performance in Oppenheimer.

However, what really captured the attention of fans on the night was the Irish actor’s ‘bored’ facial expression, despite taking home a top gong.

He was quickly turned into a meme with videos and photographs of himself posing at the glitzy awards ceremony going viral, leaving fans in complete stitches.

Despite the commentary on Cillian and Taylor from viewers, it seems they do actually get on as Taylor recalled spending time with the star and his family at an Oscars party in the past.

The singer clearly bonded with the Irish actor’s family and even spotted one of his sons sat in the audience.

Taylor pointed over to Cillian’s son Aran, 17, in the crowd and labelled the teen ‘the future of our world’ as she heaped praise on the ‘interesting conversationalist’.
