Lindsey Vonn put on a classy display in a figure-hugging ensemble as she made an appearance at TIME’s Person of the Year event in New York City on Tuesday.

The Olympic skier, 39 – who recently turned heads at the Ralph Lauren and W Magazine event during Miami Art Basel – struck a variety of poses on the red carpet upon arriving to the ceremony held at the iconic Plaza Hotel.

Earlier last week, Grammy winner Taylor Swift was announced to be the winner of TIME’s esteemed honor.

The gold medalist stunned in a black, long-sleeved dress that contained a high-neck and also clung to her frame.

She slipped into a pair of closed-toed, black pumps to coincide with the monochromatic color scheme of her outfit for the special night.

Her long, blonde locks were parted to the side, and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in elegant curls.

The gold medalist opted for minimal accessories to allow the ensemble to be the main focal point, and added a pair of mini earrings as well as a gold watch on her left wrist.

Lindsey easily carried a sleek, gold purse with a chained strap in her hand to hold a few items she needed during the event.

Her makeup was classically done, and comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a thin strip of black eyeliner.

A light blush was added to her cheekbones for a radiant glow while a reddish tint was worn on her lips for a finishing touch.

While on the red carpet, the sports star – who announced her retirement in 2019 – turned away from the cameras to reveal a large cutout on the back that offered a sultry flare.

Vonn later crossed paths with other celebrities, such as author Arianna Huffington and GLAAD President, Sarah Kate Ellis.

The trio, along with another guest, paused for group photos together shortly before the main ceremony commenced.

The Person of the Year event is ‘an exclusive invite-only evening including cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and onstage conversations with select designees for a year-end celebration,’ per the official website.

Earlier on Tuesday, Taylor Swift – who was announced to be the winner of the honor – was seen leaving Kansas City as she whisked herself to NYC ahead of the special festivities.

Other stars were also spotted on the red carpet at the event, including Padma Lakshmi and Kristen Kish.

Lindsey has been filtering through a busy schedule, and recently stopped by the Ralph Lauren and W Magazine event during Art Basel in Miami last week.

She was effortlessly chic wearing a pair of pastel pink trousers as well as a matching blazer that she chose to leave unbuttoned.

The retired skier added a plain, black top underneath and additionally slipped into a pair of open-toed, black heels.

Vonn held a stylish, black purse in her hand and allowed her blonde hair to flow down in natural, light waves.

During the night, she later crossed paths with singer, Janelle Monae, who made a statement in a white, halter-styled top and loose-fitting, black pants.

She took to her main Instagram page at the time to share a snap of herself inside a hospital and expressed in the caption that she hoped the surgery would be ‘a big step to help me long term…’

While talking to SKI Magazine in September, she opened up about life after retirement – including her recovery. ‘I knew it was going to be a challenge when I retired from racing.’

‘I was hoping maybe it would be less of a challenge than it has been, but I have no regrets. Right now I’m working to get a pain-free happy lifestyle.’
