Taylor Swift’s belly button is trending once again, years after bizarre theories that the pop star didn’t have one first emerged.

Last week, the 35-year-old Grammy winner announced her upcoming 12th studio album The Life Of A Showgirl, which is set to be released later this year on October 3.

She excitedly shared the big news as she joined her boyfriend Travis Kelce on his New Heights podcast.

Swift also took to social media to unveil the sexy album cover and accompanying photos as she embraced the showgirl theme, including one photo in which she posed in a bedazzled bralette top and matching bottoms, exposing her toned midriff.

Fans have since taken to X to repost the image and recalled when there was speculation that Swift didn’t have a belly button over a decade earlier — until she proved that she did have one in a bikini snap in 2015.

One wrote, ‘OG swifties look at this in shock that taylor is revealing her belly button, reminiscing on the days we joked that she didn’t have one.’

The fan appeared to be referencing the 2015 image of Swift as she posed with close pals on a Hawaiian vacation.

‘I’ve been so over the moon about everything else that I had completely forgotten about the fact that we used to think that she didn’t have a bellybutton lmao,’ a Swiftie wrote.

The Love Story songstress added, ‘I only partially commit to the midriff thing — you’re only seeing lower rib cage.’ 

Swift also expressed, ‘As far as anyone knows based on my public appearances, they haven’t seen evidence of a belly button. It could be pierced. They have no idea. 

‘If I’m going to get some sort of massive tattoo, it’s going to be right next to my belly button because no one’s ever going to see that.’ 

In the picture that has recently sent fans into a frenzy, the singer could be seen wearing a sparkling bralette top with a high neck as well as matching bottoms.

She gazed toward the camera in the photo, which was taken by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, whom she previously collaborated with in 2017 for her Reputation album. 

‘I loved what they did with those photos, so I called them up for [this album]. I am so happy with the way the photos came out with this one,’ the singer explained on the podcast episode. 

The star said she is ‘so proud’ of the LP while adding, ‘This is a full send. I care about this record more than I can even overstate.’

Swift opted to not work with her previous collaborator Jack Antonoff, but instead co-produced the upcoming album with Max Martin and Shellback. 

The Grammy winner recalled bringing the album to life and recording tracks amidst her Eras Tour from 2023 through 2024. 

During brief breaks from touring, she would whisk herself to Sweden where she would work closely with Martin. 

‘I would do like three shows in a row. I’d have three days off. I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and was actually working on this.

‘I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating,’ Swift expressed.
