Allison Kuch, a social media influencer and wife of former NFL player Isaac Rochell, has revealed why she hates the nickname ‘WAG’ – something that Taylor Swift has been labeled since she started dating Travis Kelce.
The term stands for ‘wives and girlfriends,’ and is often used to describe those who are married or in a relationship with professional athletes, although it’s sometimes used in a derogatory way.
Kuch and Rochell, who last played for the Las Vegas Raiders, have been married since 2021, and share a one-year-old daughter, Scottie Bee.
But according to Kuch, it’s a name that many of the wives and girlfriends really aren’t a fan of.
During a recent episode of her Sunday Sports Club podcast, she admitted that she thinks the nickname has a ‘really bad connotation.’
The topic came up as she was discussing Kylie Kelce’s recent interview with Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy, where Kelce admitted she doesn’t like the term ‘WAG’ either.
‘No wife or girlfriend in the NFL community ever refers to themselves as a WAG,’ Kuch admitted during the podcast.
‘It’s always the people on the outside referring to the people on the inside as WAGs, and I find it so funny.’

She explained that when you think of the term ‘WAG,’ you think of someone who is ‘bougie’ or ‘stuck up.’
‘I’ve never met somebody who calls themselves a WAG,’ Kuch continued.
Kylie Kelce, who is married to former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, also had shared her thoughts on the nickname while appearing on Call Her Daddy.
‘I don’t like it because I think it has a serious negative connotation attached,’ Kelce admitted.
‘I think that it’s this suggestion that your spouse’s profession swallows you up as well,’ the mom-of-three continued.
Kelce explained that while Jason was playing in the NFL, they both made a ‘conscious effort’ to make sure it was clear that being a football player was his job, and not hers.
But even though the ladies of the NFL may not like the moniker, there are some notable figures who have joined them in recent years, including Taylor Swift, Olympian Simone Biles and model Olivia Culpo.
During her Call Her Daddy appearance, Kelce opened up about how Jason’s brother, Travis Kelce, told her that he was dating Swift.

‘I will say we knew before everyone else knew but it was not like, no, it did not hit the group chat,’ she shared. ‘Jason and I found out together.’
‘Look at you blushing right now!’ Cooper said in response, with Kelce being careful not to give away too much.
‘Jason and I found out together but we knew before they hard-launched with her going to a game,’ Kelce added.
Kelce added that the first time she met Swift herself was when they both went to the Chiefs playoff game against Buffalo Bills in the playoffs last season.
