Carrie Underwood is continuing to spark controversy after revealing her plans to perform at Donald Trump’s second inauguration later this month.

Amid backlash over her decision to sing at the ceremony, in which the president-elect and vice-president-elect are sworn in and take office, resurfaced footage of the country superstar, 41, mocking Obamacare has gone viral on social media.

In a clip of her hosting the 2013 Country Music Association awards, alongside Brad Paisley, the pair did not hold back as they poked fun at the initial glitches of the site, which included long wait times and crashes due to the unexpectedly high traffic.

During the show, they even performed a whole skit teasing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, as they put a unique spin on George Straight’s country classic Amarillo by Morning.

As they made jabs at the initiative, which was designed to make affordable health insurance available to more people, stars like Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw looked very unconformable as they watched in the audience.

Their performance began after Paisley feigned a strained back, which prompted Underwood to ask if he tried enrolling in Obamacare yet.

‘It’s great,’ Underwood mused. ‘I started signing up last Thursday, and I’m almost done.’

The quip got a lot of laughs from the crowd as they proceeded to walk over to a laptop and the Before He Cheats hitmaker attempted to sign Paisley up for it.

‘Obamacare by morning/ Why is this taking so long?’ they sang. ‘I’m going to wind up with hemorrhoids/If I sit here ’til dawn/ We’ll have cataracts and dementia/ Oh this is getting on my last nerve.’

They concluded the bit by crooning: ‘Obamacare by morning/ Over six people served.’

After delivering the last line, the cameras panned to Blake Shelton and his then-wife, Miranda Lambert, who laughed and clapped, before showing Swift’s look of disbelief.

Swift, who was just 23-years-old, at the time, had not yet spoken publicly about her political beliefs, but has endorsed multiple Democrats and criticized Trump.

During the performance, Urban had a stony expression as he glared at the stage and remained tight-lipped.

The comment section of the TikTok video was filled hundreds of reactions to the footage, which has been viewed more than 560,000 times in 16 hours.

‘Taylor was confused by them and took notes of who was clapping and said I’m making pop music from now on,’ one joked.

Another pointed out that it looked like Swift looked around and ‘realized she was in the wrong room’ after that moment, which occurred a year before she fully transitioned into pop music.

‘That is when Taylor decided to release a pop album,’ a third wrote.

A fourth gushed: ‘The way Tim and Faith, Keith Urban, and Taylor Swift were not amused makes me like them all more and I didn’t know I could.’

A handful pointed out that Urban did not look happy while others pointed out that this showed Underwood’s seemingly conservative political affiliation.

Earlier this week, Underwood broke her silence over her upcoming controversial performance at Trump’s presidential inauguration.

‘I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,’ Underwood, 41, said in a statement obtained by USA Today.

‘I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.’

The country singer is scheduled to sing America The Beautiful after Trump is sworn in – as well as his vice president pick JD Vance.

Carrie is set to perform the song on January 20th with The Armed Forces Chorus and The United States Naval Academy Glee Club after the presidential oath of office is administered to Trump by the Chief of Justice of the United States.

Previously, she and Paisley teamed up to joke about Trump’s tweets as they hosted the CMAs again in 2017.

‘Now Brad, I don’t know if you heard about this, but the CMA has given us some “guidelines” with specific topics to avoid,’ she said during the live broadcast. ‘So we can’t be doing any of our silly little songs because this year’s show is a “politics-free zone.”‘

At that point, Brad starts playing the guitar and sings to the beat of Carrie’s song Before He Cheats – while using new lyrics.

‘Right now, he’s probably in his PJs, watching the cable news, reaching for his cellphone. Right now, he’s probably asking Siri how in the hell do you spell Pocahontas,’ Brad sang.

Carrie reacted simply with: ‘Well, here we go.’

Brad continued: ‘In the middle of the night, from the privacy of a gold-plated White House toilet seat, he writes little Bob Corker, NFL and covfefe.’

At that point, they both laughed about ‘covfefe’ which was what is thought to be a spelling error that Trump, 78, did in a tweet he shared after becoming President in January 2017.

‘And it’s fun to watch, yeah, thats for sure, until little rocked man stars a nuclear war. And then maybe next time he’ll think before he tweets,’ Brad sang.

In 2019, Carrie spoke to The Guardian, where she said that she likes to ‘stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins.’

She added: ‘It’s crazy. Everybody tries to sum everything up and put a bow on it, like it’s black and white. And it’s not like that.’
