Travis Kelce has admitted Taylor Swift’s lyric change to sing about him at her Buenos Aires Eras show at the weekend left him in total shock.
Swift changed a line in the song to say ‘Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming home to me’ – replace the original lyric, ‘Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me’ – much to Kelce’s visible shock as he danced away in the crowd next to her dad, Scott.
And speaking on his New Heights podcast, the Chiefs star said to his brother Jason that she had hinted she would do it, but it still left him stunned when it actually happened.
Jason asked his brother: ‘How does it feel to officially be the guy on the Chiefs?’
Travis laughed and said: ‘You mean Karma? I had no clue! Well, I might have had a little bit of a clue.

Kelce said while Swift hinted at the lyric change, it still left him stunned when it happened
‘But definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth it still shocked me. Oh s*** she really said that!’
As for the trip itself, Kelce said: ‘It was a whole bunch of fun. I’ve never been south of the equator.
‘I got there Friday and left Sunday. Hoping I was gonna see Taylor’s second show, it got rained out. Lightning, electronics and water don’t mix.
‘She wasn’t too happy, she prides herself on performing through all weather and rain but when it’s unsafe, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.
‘Everybody was accommodated for whoever missed Friday to go on Sunday and it ended up being perfect.
‘The stadium was unbelievable, I forget what it was called. Instead of people having seats, everybody knew they were gonna stand. It was north of 65,000, like 70,000 three nights in a row.
‘It’s crazy how many sold out shows she has and these venues that she keeps going to. I was blown away. It was an electric crowd too. It was fun, man.’
Kelce was on a bye week, so had a free weekend to travel to Argentina and see his girlfriend perform.
He returns to NFL action on Monday night, when his Chiefs team play against his brother Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles in a repeat of last season’s Super Bowl.
Swift, meanwhile, returned to New York at the start of the week but will be playing in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil this weekend.
Her final date in the Brazilian capital is Sunday night, meaning it is a tight turnaround for her to make Monday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City – but not impossible.
