Taylor Swift Alerts – Why Taylor Swift hosted MGK and Dakota Johnson at her NYC apartment for their night on the town

Taylor Swift became an unexpected figure in romance rumors that have begun swirling around MGK and Dakota Johnson after the two were seen arriving separately at her apartment over the weekend.

And now sources are reportedly shedding light on why the rapper-turned-rocker and the actress, both 36, turned to Swift for a pad to hang out at.

‘Taylor has let friends use her NYC properties before, and Dakota and Colson wanted privacy, so they headed to her apartment,’ a source told Page Six on Tuesday. 

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Dakota Johnson, MGK and Taylor Swift for comment but has not yet received a response. 

MGK (previously known as Machine Gun Kelly) and Johnson had been spotted arriving at the 36-year-old pop superstar’s penthouse on Friday night, before they left for a dinner together at the Michelin-starred American–Mediterranean restaurant Estela.

Johnson was seen arriving on her own at Swift’s place about 30 minutes before MGK dropped by, with Swift’s security detail joining him, according to Deuxmoi.

TMZ previously reported that Swift wasn’t home when MGK (real name: Colson Baker) and Johnson visited her apartment.

Page Six’s source added that the musician and actress both seemed to hit it off after spending some time together.

‘Colson had a really nice time with Dakota. He thinks she’s really cool and obviously he’s attracted to her,’ they said. ‘They hit it off, and there was definitely chemistry.’

While they cautioned that the alleged romance was still ‘new,’ and emphasized that MGK and Johnson are still ‘just getting to know each other,’ they claimed that ‘there was definitely something there, and he would like to see her again.’

According to the source, MGK was ‘really into’ the Fifty Shades of Grey actress and thought the two ‘were comfortable together.’

They said that MGK – who welcomed a second child with his former fiancée Megan Fox last year – appreciated that Johnson has a healthy sense of humor, and he also liked that she ‘doesn’t take herself too seriously.’

The insider emphasized that the meet-up ‘wasn’t awkward or forced,’ and the two ‘were vibing and had fun.’

They also clarified that MGK and Johnson were going for something low-key and hadn’t planned out a romantic date night.

The insider emphasized that the meet-up ‘wasn’t awkward or forced,’ and the two ‘were vibing and had fun.’ They also clarified that MGK and Johnson (seen September 13 at the US Open in NYC) were going for something low-key and hadn’t planned out a romantic date night

‘They were hanging out, having dinner, talking and getting to know each other,’ the source said.

They claimed that MGK ‘wasn’t trying to make a big thing out of it or have everyone know they were together.’

Both MGK and Johnson attended the US Open over the weekend, though the pop-punk musician attended on Saturday, while Johnson was pictured vaping in the stands with friends on Sunday.

The meet-up comes one month after Johnson was reported to have split from Tucker ‘Role Model’ Pillsbury after only dating for about eight months.

The Materialists actress was seven years older than the Maine-born musician, and they ‘ended their relationship a while ago,’ according to People.

This, after an insider claimed Johnson and Role Model were ‘very much on the same page’ and ‘it just feels easy’ between the couple, who were first photographed dining together on December 29 in Los Angeles, California.

Johnson made a flirty appearance on the Harmony singer’s newly released third studio album Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, which debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard 200.

In his drunken track Love I You, Role Model is heard telling Johnson: ‘Hey, I think you’re perfect’ before she shoots back, ‘You say that to everyone.’

‘OK, well, is it working?’ the tattoo-sleeved millennial replies.

‘Yeah,’ Johnson says. ‘But don’t tell anyone.’ 

Role Model just told Rolling Stone in August that the interlude served as him ‘publicly admitting the relationship’ even though he was hesitant at first: ‘I think keeping those things separate is probably good.’

‘And then one day [producer Mason Stoops] convinced her, and I was just like, “Yeah, let’s try it.” And it was amazing. Her voice was perfect on it,’ the aspiring ‘single girl-dad’ explained to the mag.

‘Obviously, yeah, you know that’s gonna lead to discussions online, but also it made the song really special to me, and what a cool cameo to have… She did it in one try, too. It was very impressive.’

Machine Gun Kelly was previously in a relationship with actress Megan Fox for four and a half years.

MGK welcomed a daughter, Saga, in March of last year with Fox.

The meet-up comes one month after Johnson was reported to have split from Tucker ‘Role Model’ Pillsbury after only dating for about eight months

Kelly and Fox, 40, had their baby girl just four months after their relationship reportedly ended following claims the actress discovered he had been communicating with other women.

Despite the breakup, a source revealed in late last year that Fox has been impressed by ‘how he’s stepped up for both her and the baby,’ fueling whispers that the former fiancés could be finding their way back to each other.

In July, Fox used Instagram again to take a savage swipe at her former partners while firing back at a troll in the comments section of one of her lingerie photoshoot posts.

‘This s*** is so unbelievably embarrassing for a 40 year old mom to be posting. 16 year old tumblr s***,’ the Instagram user commented.

In response to the comment, Fox savagely replied: ‘which one of my exes is this.’
