Taylor Swift left fans rolling their eyes after she took aim at those jealous of her success.

The Grammy-winning artist, 35, made a glamorous appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night.

During her interview, Swift took a swipe at her haters while she spoke about wanting career longevity.

Turning to Colbert, 61, she said: ‘What I look up to people the most is career longevity, friendship longevity, longevity in their relationships — how do you keep a good thing going?

‘I think there are certain corners of our society that really love that and look up to longevity and there are also corners that are like “Give someone else a turn! Can’t you just go away so we can talk about how good you were?”‘

Ending her sentence with a mic drop moment, Swift, who was declared a billionaire last year, added: ‘I don’t want to.’

While Swift’s sentiments prompted applause from the studio audience, her remarks alienated social media users who branded her whinging as ‘insecure’ and ‘gauche.’

Many also criticized Swift for her penchant of releasing numerous variants alongside her albums. For example, there were 11 CD editions of her latest Life of a Showgirl album.

Taking to Reddit, one asked: ‘Honestly… does it ever get exhausting to play the victim over and over and over?’

‘She comes off like a child throwing a tantrum,’ wrote another.

A third continued: ‘She’s like the kid at the playground hogging the swings. It’s been clear for quite a while now she doesn’t care to see her peers succeed, particularly if that comes with her not winning something. It makes me sad.’

‘Once again, she misrepresents the problem people have with her,’ a fourth wrote.

‘No one is upset that she’s still working. They’re upset that she intentionally releases mediocre variants and remixes to cheat her way onto the top of the charts, almost always at the expense of younger female artists.

‘No one is asking her to stop making music, they just want her to put out a good product and let the success happen organically rather than throw out half-assed slop and use cheap marketing tricks to make it a “hit.”‘

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘Honestly, I don’t give a s*** about her or her ambition. I just find it extremely disrespectful and cheap to release so many variants of the same crap to milk your fans out of every penny they have for your stupid little ambitions.

‘She does not respect or care about her fans.’

‘Considering her level of popularity, the whining comes off so incredibly gauche.’

‘It just screams insecurity to me,’ continued a sixth.

Elsewhere during her appearance on the show, Swift spoke about her record-making Eras tour and revealed that not even illness would prevent her from going on stage.

‘I make a decision at the beginning of the tour that there is no option to not to go on stage,’ she said.

‘That’s not an option. Even if you have the stomach flu, which I had multiple times during the tour, my goal was to never let them know you have the stomach flu.’

‘I think it’s also about knowing that there is something bigger than you. And for me, on that tour, the bigger thing was these people have saved up their money, they have rearranged their schedules, they have arranged transportation, they’ve had parties, they have created costumes, they’ve made friendship bracelets. I’m doing the show!’
