Travis Kelce went back to his footballing roots on Friday, shunning the spotlight and his Taylor Swift date nights to take in some high school action in Kansas.
Kelce and the Chiefs are preparing to take on the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead in a vital NFL match-up on Sunday, but the superstar tight end watched a far less high-profile version of the sport last night.
Multiple fans spotted the VIP guest sitting behind the end zone in Lenexa, KC, sharing photos and videos to social media.
Kelce was joined by his former Chiefs teammate Blake Bell, whose nephew was reportedly playing for St James, in their playoff game against Mill Valley.
Another heartwarming video showed a young player scoring a touchdown directly in front of Kelce – something not many are able to boast on their resume.
It was revealed by KSHB41 reporter Matt Foster that the main reason for Kelce’s visit was to support another former teammate in Anthony Sherman, who is currently an assistant coach for St James.

Another Chiefs connection came in the form of St James’ running back Jake House, who is the son of KC’s assistant coach Matt House.
And it ended up being a positive night for Kelce and his Chiefs pals, with St James Academy Thunder running out 45-41 winners to move on to the next round of the playoffs.
Kelce’s low-key appearance at the game is a big change to his usual Friday night plans with fiancee Swift, given the pair are more used to glitzy date nights in NYC than the rough and tumble of high school football.
Swift was nowhere to be seen at the game in Lenexa, a suburb just outside Kansas City, but she is likely to be at Arrowhead on Sunday for the Chiefs’ latest game.
It is a huge match-up for Kansas City (5-4) against the 8-2 Broncos, and could go a long way to deciding the fate of this year’s AFC.
Meanwhile, this week gave fans a rare glimpse into the private life of Travis and Taylor, after the singer released a teaser trailer for her upcoming Eras Tour documentary.

In the clip, she could be seen calling Kelce during a car journey, with the pair sharing a laugh and talking about ‘basically having the same job’.
‘You got teammates, I got teammates,’ he agreed. ‘You’ve got Coach Reid, I’ve got my mom,’ Swift added.
They both erupted in laughter before the sweet clip ended. Later on in the trailer, the couple were seen embracing and sharing in a loving kiss underneath the stage.
Swift, dressed in one her famous Eras Tour looks, wrapped her arms around the sports star from behind before he leaned in to plant a smooch on her.
