Taylor Swift ‘s latest album, The Life Of A Showgirl , has not received any 2026 Grammy Award nominations. The 35-year-old pop star’s newest body of work is ineligible for the upcoming awards show — whose contenders were announced on Friday — due to the date it was released, October 3. The product eligibility period for the 68th annual presentation was August 31, 2024 – August 30, 2025.
Taylor most recently attended the Grammy Awards this past February, hitting the red carpet in a sparkly, ruby-hued Vivienne Westwood mini dress. She received nods for her 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, in several categories. Although she didn’t win any this year, she has scored 14 gongs since 2010. Taylor was first recognized by the Recording Academy in 2008 when she was nominated for Best New Artist.
Due to missing the eligibility cutoff date for the forthcoming show, she won’t be able to submit The Life Of A Showgirl for consideration until the 2027 iteration. Despite not being a 2026 nominee, there is a possibility the Pennsylvania-born star will attend the event as a performer, presenter, or guest. She took home her first pair of Grammys in 2010 for her album Fearless, clutching the awards for Album of the Year and Best Country Album.
The singer-songwriter made history in February 2024 when she won Album of the Year for Midnights, making her the only artist to win four times after previously winning for Fearless, 1989, and Folklore. Her other Grammy triumphs have come in the categories of Best Country Song, Best Female Country Vocal Performance, Best Country Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Music Video and Best Song Written for Visual Media , tallying 14. When she was looked over for her 2017 album reputation, the entertainer felt incentivized to make a ‘better’ project.
‘This is good, this is fine. I need to make a better record,’ she was filmed saying to her publicist in her 2020 Netflix documentary Miss Americana after the 2018 nominations were announced, per Genius . Next year’s Grammy ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 1, 2026 at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles. Kendrick Lamar leads the 2026 nominations with nine nods, including one for Album of the Year for his sixth LP, GNX.
This marks his fifth time being considered in the category , although the 38-year-old rapper — who has 17 Grammys — has never won AOTY. Also up for Album of the Year are Sabrina Carpenter for Man’s Best Friend; Bad Bunny for Debi Tirar Mas Fotos; Justin Bieber for Swag; Tyler, the Creator for Chromakopia; Clipse, Pusha T, and Malice for Let God Sort Em Out; Lady Gaga for Mayhem; and Leon Thomas for Mutt.
Some of the same artists are recognized in the Record of the Year slot, including Lady Gaga for Abracadabra; Carpenter for Manchild; Bad Bunny for DtMF; and Lamar with SZA for luther. They will compete against Chappell Roan’s The Subway; ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ APT.; Billie Eilish’s Wildflower; and Doechii’s Anxiety.
