It’s the trick that can make a woman feel heaps more confident in an instant. And now it seems that wearing bright red lipstick is more popular than ever – thanks in part to pop queen Taylor Swift.
A poll shows that millennials and Gen Z are increasingly adopting the classic look. A resounding 88 per cent of women aged 18 to 35 claimed they have recently worn red lipstick, citing celebrity influences and TikTok make-up trends.
Ms Swift seems to be leading the way, with 29 per cent of those polled voting her as the most iconic red lipstick wearing celebrity of all time.
Only Marilyn Monroe, who picked up 44 per cent of the vote, beat her, according to the poll of 2,000 young women by research firm Perspectus Global.
Liv Davey, make-up artist to the stars, said: ‘If I’m having a bad day or I’m tired, bright red lipstick brings me back to life.’
