Eagles defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson looked to rub salt on Travis Kelce’s wounds after the team dominantly dethroning the Chiefs in Sunday’s Super Bowl.
After the game, Gardner-Johnson threw shade on Kelce and Taylor Swift with a post on his Instagram story. Gardner-Johnson’s message appeared to be a reference to the figure of Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole.
On Monday, Gardner-Johnson posted a photo of him taunting Kelce, standing upright in front of the tight end with his hands behind him.
The story was accompanied by ‘Murder Business’ by rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again writing: ‘Should’ve Stayed with that thick s****’, which is believed to be a reference to Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole.
Nicole and Kelce dated on and off for five years before officially calling it quits in May 2022. Kelce then moved on to the 14-time Grammy winner in July 2023, becoming one of the most high-profile couples in recent history.
However, Sunday’s showing from the Chiefs was extremely underwhelming as they failed to catch their rhythm through four quarters.

A highlight of the total shutout was Gardner and the Eagles defense holding Kelce to just four receptions out of six targets and a paltry 39 yards.
With the Chiefs getting desperate in the fourth quarter, quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an interception to Gardner-Johnson, who returned it for a 98-yard touchdown. However, Jalen Carter had jumped offside on the play, which nullified the touchdown.
Nonetheless, the 21 seconds the play took off the clock were not nullified.
Furthermore, Gardner-Johnson tallied a solo and two assisted tackles to put the nail in the coffin of their second franchise title.
Uncertainty surrounds Kelce’s future as speculation of his retirement has circulated during the build-up to the Super Bowl.
