Beyoncé’s former stylist Ty Hunter has weighed in on the singer’s awkward wardrobe malfunction that happened at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
The 43-year-old singer took to the stage at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on February 2 after winning Best Country Album for her record Cowboy Carter.
Wearing a custom Schiaparelli gown, the award-winner appeared to have suffered a rather embarrassing garment mishap as eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the underwire was poking out – and looked rather uncomfortable.
‘Things happen though. It’s still a beautiful dress and it was just that moment,’ Ty, 52, told DailyMail.com exclusively at the Blue Jacket Fashion Show in New York City, just two days after music’s biggest night took place.
The creative director couldn’t help but gush over his former client’s stunning gown as well as Willow Smith’s look – ‘the hair, the grill, all of that was beautiful’ and even Taylor Swift, who presented the award to Beyoncé.
‘I loved Taylor Swift what she had on,’ Ty continued, referring to the Bad Blood singer wearing a sparkly red Vivienne Westwood dress with a ruby “T” leg chain.

Ty couldn’t help but reflect on the time he styled Beyoncé – who attended the Grammys with her husband Jay-Z and eldest daughter Blue Ivy – for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in a mini red Roberto Cavalli dress.
‘I was so proud of her being able to give Bey the award, and her in a red dress,’ Ty recalled. ‘Because I dressed Bey in a red dress when she actually gave Taylor Swift the moment – when she won an award, so to see that transition… It was beautiful.’
The unforgettable moment took place after Kanye West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video.
Ty, known for working with Destiny’s Child and being Beyoncé’s stylist for over 18 years, reportedly stopped working for the superstar well before 2019.
He notably dressed the artists for her Dangerously in Love album cover and Crazy in Love music video, which he’s said are some of his favorite looks.
In an interview that ran in 2023, the Makeover from Within: Lessons in Hardship, Acceptance and Self-Discovery author revealed his reason for leaving behind a career that changed his life forever.
‘When my daughter turned 21, the next day, I just realized all the things that I missed.
‘I missed birthdays. I missed, you know, celebrations, funerals and things like that with family. So, it was just a time of just really stepping out on faith,’ he told TheGrio.

‘And even though I had the dream job that everybody wanted, I also wanted to just do other things. And, you know, I was of age and I put in so much time.
‘So, I just stepped out on faith, and I’m glad I did because I learned so much more about myself.’
Beyoncé is now working with Shiona Turini, who Ty told DailyMail.com is ‘amazing.’
Switching focus in his personal life, Ty’s now working on ‘dressing myself and I’m working on other things outside of fashion and doing more TV stuff… And just learning more about myself.’
On February 4, he walked in the 9th Annual Blue Jacket Runway Show where he joined other stars to help raise awareness and raise funds for the nonprofit advocacy group ZERO Prostate Cancer.
Proving to still be part of the BeyHive, he modeled a blue Tommy Hilfiger getup while walking the runway to Bey’s hit ***Flawless song.
The other stars who walked in the New York Fashion Show event sponsored by Johnson & Johnson included Bill Nye, Don Lemon, Mario Cantone and Nigel Barker.
Don Lemon, for his part, shocked onlookers when he took aim at Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori when he mocked her jaw-dropping Grammy Awards nude dress reveal.

The former CNN anchor took aim at Bianca Censori when he dropped his navy blue jacket – just like she had dropped her fur jacket at the Grammys and revealed her scandalous sheer dress
Lemon made clear he was targeting West, 47, and Censori, 30, when he hit the runway wearing a long midnight-blue overcoat that he left open.
The look was reminiscent of the enormous black fur coat that the rapper’s wife initially wore when she arrived at the Grammys red carpet, before dropping it to the ground to reveal her scandalizing ultra-sheer dress, which did nothing to obscure the fact that she was completely nude underneath it.
As the former CNN anchor— who shot back at West after the rapper claimed he had started a rumor that he and Censori had been kicked out of the Grammys — reached the end of the runway, he turned and slipped the overcoat down his arms, as if to drop it on the ground just like the infamous couple did.
‘Anybody know what I’m doing?’ Lemon shouted to the crowd after let his coat drop down nearly to the ground.
‘Kanye’s wife,’ he clarified to the attendees before pulling his jacket back up and making his way back down the runway.
