The singer, 32, has earned recognition in the Pop Act and Song Of The Year categories, revealing it was when she wrote the hit Angel Of My Dreams that she finally established her individual sound.
Speaking as the nominations were announced on Thursday, she said: ‘Obviously as a band we were nominated a few times and that’s amazing but when it’s for your own music and my own personal experiences, it does hit different, it feels extra special.
‘When I first started this solo journey, I was writing a lot of music to exist outside of the group and figure out who I am on my own but the minute I wrote Angel Of My Dreams, that was when I knew I had arrived and this is my sound, this is me.’

The Beatles have landed a shock nomination after last receiving recognition at the BRITs 42 years ago.
They have been nominated for Song Of The Year with track Now and Then, written by the late John Lennon, 45 years ago.
It was digitally remastered in 2023, reached the No1 spot on the UK Singles Chart and broke several records including the longest gap between a band’s first and last number one.
But one big international star was noticeably snubbed in the nominations.
Ariana Grande, 31, whose seventh album Eternal Sunshine was released last March, failed to received any mentions in the International Artist Of The Year or International Song Of The Year categories.
It comes as she was recognised for her starring role in movie musical Wicked, receiving an Oscar nomination on Thursday for Actress in a Supporting Role.

The BRIT Awards have been criticised in the past for a heavy male bias to the nominees but 2025’s ceremony will see an equal five female artists compete against five males in the Artist Of The Year category.
In 2023, the decision was made to replace Male and Female categories with a non-gendered Artist Of The Year Award, which sparked outrage when no female or non-binary artists were among that year’s nominees.
But last year saw the category double in size from five to 10, with artists such as Fred Again.. Sam Fender, Michael Kiwanuka, Rachel Chinouriri and Nia Archives, who are all in the running, being fairly represented.
Fans can support their favourite artists from January 31 until February 14 by voting for them via The BRITs WhatsApp channel.
The genre categories voted for by the public are Alternative Rock Act, Dance Act, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act, Pop Act, and R&B Act.

On his comeback, Jack said: ‘They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and that is absolutely the case with The BRIT Awards – it is my favourite night of the year, and I am delighted to be invited back to host in 2025.’
He stepped away in 2022 when Mo Gilligan took over for two ceremonies until last year as Maya Jama, Roman Kemp and Clara Amfo co-hosted the event together.
Jack shared his excitement with a post on Instagram, which was liked by last year’s host Roman, who commented: ‘Return of the king.’
