Nikki Glaser has landed herself in her fair share of hot water ahead of her Golden Globes 2025 hosting debut, having body shamed Taylor Swift amid her eating disorder struggle and faced accusations of ‘bullying.’
The comedian, 40, is gearing up to front the prestigious ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on January 5.
She will make history as the first woman to ever host the awards.
‘It’s not gonna be watered down, [but] the tone will be different for this,’ Nikki teased of her performance to Yahoo! Entertainment.
‘I’m not gonna go so hard that anyone’s gonna be offended.’
While preparations are well underway for the grand event, DailyMail.com takes a look back at some of Nikki’s biggest controversies.
From apologizing to Love Story singer Taylor, 35, after cruelly commenting on her slim frame while she was battling disordered eating, to meanly blasting one of the artist’s fans on a recent podcast episode, she’s found herself in hot water on more than one occasion.
Here, FEMAIL has unpacked Nikki’s many controversies.

Body shamed Taylor Swift amid her eating disorder
In 2020, Nikki made a public apology to Taylor Swift after she was seen body shaming the singer in her Netflix documentary, Miss Americana.
In the film, the comedian was heard making a joke about Taylor being ‘too skinny’ and that a person would have to ‘have a thigh gap to hang out’ with the pop star.
She later took to Instagram where she apologized for causing ‘any pain.’
‘I really have no need to post this other than to apologize to someone who seriously means SO much to me,’ Nikki penned.
‘I only got a couple death threats from die-hard Swift fans, which as one myself, I totally get…. I just hope this somehow gets to her so she knows I’m sorry for any pain I caused her and that I’d love to be her friend someday (when I start modeling) and tell her how much her music has influenced my life and comedy.
‘In fact, her song The Man is the inspiration for my new hour of material and I feature the song is multiple iterations during my current tour.
‘I love you Tay, and I can’t wait to watch 99.97 percent of your new doc.’
Surprisingly, Taylor responded to the apology and even sent her a ‘massive hug.’

‘Wow,’ the award-winning country star said.
‘I appreciate this so much and one of the major themes about the doc is that we have the ability to change our opinions over time, to grow, to learn about ourselves.
‘I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve struggled with some of the same things I’ve struggled with.
‘Sending a massive hug.’
Berated a Taylor Swift fan at a Eras Tour concert
More recently, Nikki was hit with fierce backlash after she meanly ranted about a woman who she had seen at an Eras concert.
Speaking in an episode of The Nikki Glaser Podcast last month, she branded the concertgoer a ‘gutter punk bitch’ who gave off ‘twitchy, squirrel with, like, rabies behavior.’
She went on to claim the woman had ‘snuck into’ to the friends and family seated section at the stadium but didn’t fit so was seated in a different row.
‘Her energy makes me sick,’ Nikki declared on the episode.

The woman later addressed Nikki’s comments and accused her of ‘bullying’
‘I know I’m being so mean because she’s probably like a struggling person… but I was so wanting to stick a security person on her, but I was like be a better person and just let her enjoy her night.’
She went onto add: ‘This girl probably doesn’t have much to live for.’
Following the episode, Lindsay Perrin identified herself as the woman Nikki was referring to and addressed the allegations in a TikTok video.
In her video, Lindsay explained that she had been hired by Rolling Stone to capture content from Taylor’s performance, and she slammed Nikki for ‘bullying’ her.
‘I am one of the nicest, friendliest, most inclusive people that you will ever meet, if you know me, you know that to be true,’ she said.
‘I am full of joy and excitement and literally love the life that I live.’
Lindsay added: ‘I cannot believe the Golden Globes hired this woman to host. I mean, America needs to stop putting bullies on pedestals.’
TikTok users were quick to offer their apologies following Lindsay’s video, with many shocked at Nikki’s mean girl behavior.
One said: ‘I am so sorry this happened to you completely unprovoked. This is so harsh for no reason at all.’
‘This is so sad,’ another wrote. ‘I’m so sorry! I don’t understand how or why people are so mean.’
Made scathing comments about Gisele Bündchen during Tom Brady roast
Nikki expressed regret after ripping into Tom Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bündchen during the Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix.
In the special, which aired in May 2024, she made a lot of gags at the NFL star and his ex-wife, who he divorced in 2022.
‘Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns, you have seven rings − well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back,’ she said.
Nikki also joked about his ‘diet program,’ telling the audience, ‘it is so strict, but if you follow it exactly as he does, you too can lose your family.’

After the star-studded roast, Tom admitted he ‘wouldn’t do that again because of the way it affected’ his family, to which Nikki said he ‘maybe didn’t consider the backlash from his family and how would affect them.’
She also expressed disbelief that Tom wasn’t aware of what he was getting into, noting that he could have prepared by watching footage of previous comedy roasts.
However, Nikki stressed that she would say sorry to Gisele if the two ever crossed paths.
‘If I ever met her, I would definitely apologize for hurting her feelings if she was indeed upset about it,’ she told People.
Demanded her own parents to apologize to Julia Roberts
Nikki demanded her parents apologize for their bad take on Julia Roberts’ interaction with Travis Kelce at a Taylor Swift show in Dublin, Ireland.
‘Uh oh,’ the comedian captioned an Instagram Story screenshot of a news story about her parents’ remarks, writing: ‘My parents are going to issue an apology soon.’
The controversy arose from Nikki’s mom Julie and dad Edward reacting to footage of the Steel Magnolias actress, 56, affectionately touching Taylor’s boyfriend Travis’ chest while talking to him.
‘She’s so gross,’ Julie said, adding that it was ‘weird’ that Julia was ‘itching’ the athlete’s chest.
Edward agreed, saying that Travis was ‘trying to get away’ from the Hollywood star.

‘She’s trying to French kiss him right now!’ Julie went on, adding: ‘Just kidding. She would.’
Julie later admitted that she ‘should’ve said something different than the word gross’ in an apology video via Nikki’s Instagram Story.
‘It’s not a nice word… So, I’m issuing an apology right now for using the word — but I think it was really weird.’
Julie went on to say that she ‘meant to say just weird, not [gross] and weird.’ Edward added in that it was ‘too late’ to take back her comments.
