Taylor Swift fans are convinced that the superstar may be collaborating with country legend, Dolly Parton, on her upcoming re-recorded album, Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version).
Earlier this week, eagle-eyed Swifties noticed that the Jolene crooner, 78, began following the 14-time Grammy winner on Instagram.
This sparked feverish speculation across social media that the two music icons may have a collaboration in the works.
‘I’ll never shut up if Queen Dolly is on Debut TV,’ one fan tweeted on Wednesday, while another person wrote, ‘IF DOLLY IS ON DEBUT TV I WILL NEVER RECOVER IT WILL BE THE BEST THING THATS EVER HAPPENED.’
A third fan posted on X: ‘IF DOLLY IS ON DEBUT TV IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PERSON I’LL BECOME.’
It is no surprise that Parton is a fan of Swift as she previously praised the Cardigan singer while accepting the hitmaker award at Billboard’s 2020 Women in Music event.

During her speech, Parton gave a sweet shout out ‘all of the wonderful women in show business that write all of these wonderful songs.’
‘Cindy Walker, who wrote some of the greatest songs ever and of course Loretta Lynn, wonderful wonderful songwriter,’ Parton said. ‘And this day in time, of course, Taylor Swift, she’s just right up there, probably number one.’

She continued: ‘I think it’s so important that we acknowledge the women that write and sing in country music. And I think it’s also very important that they take control of their own business.’
More recently, Swift gushed over Parton during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in November 2023.
‘Dolly is a force of evolution and transformation in our industry, but she does it with such playful levity it almost looks effortless,’ the pop star told the outlet.
Swift added: ‘Her sense of humor and mischief are easily my favorite things about her, because I think it forces the world to reconcile that a woman can be a serious artist and writer who also has raucous fun with it, can make people laugh and be in on every joke.’
In an interview with Variety earlier this year, Parton said it ‘is amazing what [Swift] has done with her career.’
‘I just admire her very much and how she’s handled her business, her personal life and what all she has meant to so many young people. [She’s] been a great inspiration,’ the 9 to 5 star stated.

Back in 2015, Parton marveled at Swift’s success and how she ‘knew exactly who she was, she had her dream, and she stuck with it.’
‘That’s what you gotta do. I’m just so proud of her,’ she told People, at the time.
Rumors that the pair may have something brewing come after Swift wrapped her record-breaking, 21-month Eras Tour.
At the moment, she only has two albums from her discography left to re-record, her debut, and sixth record, reputation.
On past re-recordings, she has tapped various artists from Keith Urban and Phoebe Bridgers to Hayley Williams to appear on previously unreleased Vault tracks.

Earlier this week, Swifties also began predicting that 2025 will be the year she finally begins production on her highly-anticipated feature film directorial debut.
It was first announced in 2022 that the Anti-Hero singer had agreed to team up with Searchlight Pictures to helm her first-ever full-length film.
Variety reported at the time that Swift already had an original script written.
As to keep the project under wraps, no plot or casting details were revealed.
In a joint statement, Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield gushed about embarking on a ‘creative journey’ with Swift.
‘Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey,’ they wrote.

Neither Swift or Searchlight Pictures have provided any update on the film since the partnership was confirmed over two years ago.
This was most likely due to Swift’s hectic work schedule that included the release of two new albums, two re-recorded albums, a concert film and a massive world tour.
But fans believe that Swift has kept her schedule ‘open’ for 2025 in the hopes of finally bringing her long-awaited feature to light.
She also appears to be back on her typical two-year album cycle, which means no new music ventures until at least 2026.
