Travis Kelce took a trip – or rather drive – down memory lane Wednesday when he made a cheeky nod to his first public outing with Taylor Swift.
The world is now no stranger to the NFL star and pop sensation’s romance, having witnessed their high-profile relationship take the NFL by storm and dominate headlines as they galivanted across the globe on countless date nights.
But before races around the world to make the Super Bowl and surprise on-stage Eras Tour appearances, Travis and Taylor first rocked the world with their blockbuster love story at Arrowhead.
After the songstress first attended a Chiefs game on September 25, 2023 – confirming the romance rumors – the couple were spotted driving into the sunset, quite literally, in his vintage drop-top.
The lovebirds made their escape from Arrowhead in Travis’s ’71 Chevelle, which was hailed as the ‘American equivalent of the Royal Wedding.’
And, while discussing his most recent arrival at the home of the Kansas City Chiefs in a renovated ’69 Chevelle SS with brother Jason on their New Heights podcast, the tight end couldn’t resist a throwback to the getaway car.

The couple first went public when they drove into the sunset in Travis’s ’71 Chevelle
‘I think it’s awesome,’ Jason began, referring to the converted, fully-electric vintage vehicle transformed by the kids at Travis’s Ignition Lab that he rocked up to Sunday’s game in.
‘They convert these vehicles to electric, they converted my truck to electric… and one of the things we got to see was that fully-electric Chevelle. How did that feel? It’s pretty gnarly, it’s cool as s***.’
‘That thing is fun, it’s cool,’ Travis chimed in. ‘A big guy like me, it’s tough to get into those old cars if you don’t pull the seats back, but man that thing is sweet.’
‘Those old-school cars are so frickin’ cool, I think I’ve got a ’71 Chevelle that some people may have seen me drive before, but this thing was one-of-a-kind,’ he added, throwing it back to his Chevelle date night with Taylor.
‘The kids did an unbelievable job, it was a smooth ride into the stadium.’
The three-time Super Bowl winner pulled up to the Kansas City Chiefs’ Sunday Night Football clash against divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, in a ’69 Chevelle SS with a special hidden meaning.
The Chiefs star’s special game day arrival was courtesy of the kids within his Operation Breakthrough program – a charity for families and children in the Kansas City area.
The program’s Ignition Lab students transformed the vintage vehicle into a high-performance all-electric car along with the help of MINDDRIVE.

The 35-year-old was promoting the vehicle, which is being raffled off for the charity at $100-a-pop for tickets.
The renovated auto boasts 2016 Tesla Model S large rear drive unit, paired with an 87kWh battery pack, providing impressive electric power.
It also features modern conveniences such as electric power windows and locks, upgraded air conditioning, and a Dakota Digital Dash Instrument Cluster that seamlessly integrates the Electric vehicle system while preserving the charm of the original design.
A 1200-watt Bluetooth stereo system with hands-free voice-activated options is the final flourish on the wheels to ensure a premium audio experience.
In 2020, Kelce purchased land to build a STEM facility for high school children at Operation Breakthrough.
Kelce’s Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation formed a partnership with the organization years ago, launching the Ignition Lab in August 2020.
It houses a digital media lab, automotive and engineering lab and an on-site food truck run by culinary arts students.
