DeAndre Hopkins cleared the air on his viral celebration that left Taylor Swift and Chiefs fans buzzing during an overtime win over the Buccaneers at home.

The 14-time Grammy winner was seen jumping for joy in the VIP suite at Arrowhead when Hopkins scored a touchdown with 4:05 left in the first half on Monday night.

After reaching the end zone, the wide receiver celebrated with the ‘Remember the Titans’ dance along with Travis Kelce and other teammates.

While many took the celebration as a jab to his former team in Tennessee after trading him to Kansas City, Hopkins confirmed that it was an ode to his old club.

‘It was a shout to Tennessee, if u know me u know it’s nothing but love for Nashville,’ Hopkins wrote on X. ‘Ran and his crew are like family. Without them, I wouldn’t be here.’

Hopkins made an impressive 35-yard catch on a pass from Patrick Mahomes in the red zone and caught a short pass for the touchdown before referencing the 2000 Disney film in his celebration.

The Titans traded Hopkins to the Chiefs late in October for a 2025 conditional fifth-rounder. The pick could be upgraded to a fourth-rounder while Tennessee pays for roughly half of Hopkins’ remaining salary.

Hopkins debuted for the defending Super Bowl champions in a win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 27.

However, he made his presence felt on Monday night with a two-touchdown performance in one of Kansas City’s most challenging wins so far this season.

The Clemson product caught eight of nine targets for 86 yards to contribute to the victory.

Hopkins was drafted by the Texans with the 27th overall pick in 2013 and stayed with Houston through 2019. He then had a three-year stint in Arizona before his two seasons with the Titans.

The Chiefs have now won eight straight as they remain unbeaten this season. Kareem Hunt and Samaje Perine also contributed touchdowns to keep their perfect record intact.

Mahomes and Co. will hope to carry the momentum of the win as they gear up to face Denver on Nov. 10 and Buffalo on the 17th.
