Just one week after his Golden Globe win, The Bear star Ebon Moss-Bachrach continued his winning streak at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, and thanked someone quite unexpected – Taylor Swift.
The 46-year-old actor took home the Best Supporting Actor award at the Critics Choice, while his co-star Jeremy Allen White won Best Actor.
Moss-Bachrach beat out Phil Dunster (Ted Lasso), Harrison Ford (Shrinking), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), James Marsden (Jury Duty) and Henry Winkler (Barry).
Towards the end of his speech, though, the sharp-drssed actor said, ‘I’ve gotta thank my two special scene partners this year, Olivia Colman and Taylor Swift,’ before thanking his wife Yelena and their two daughters.
Olivia Colman had a brief cameo in The Bear Season 2 as a chef named Terry, who bonded with Moss-Bachrach’s character Richie.

While Taylor Swift didn’t actually appear in Season 2, there was a story line in Season 2 about her.
One episode found Richie trying to score coveted Taylor Swift concert tickets for his daughter and ex-wife, which he ultimately does.
There was also a scene after the concert where he belted out Swift’s 2008 hit song Love Story while driving home.
He added in this speech, ‘This is such a privilege to play this part. Really beautiful experience to take this man kind of from a tough place into the light.’
‘It’s not often you get to do that — to play joy. And it’s been a really wonderful, special, special experience for me,’ he added.
His co-stars Jeremy Allen White won Best Actor and Ayo Edebiri won Best Supporting Actress for The Bear.
The FX series also took home the coveted Best Comedy Series award, beating out Abbott Elementary (ABC), Barry (HBO | Max), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Prime Video), Poker Face (Peacock), Reservation Dogs (FX), Shrinking (Apple TV+) and What We Do in the Shadows (FX).
The Bear follows Carmy (White), a young chef who inherits his brother’s Chicago sandwhich shop after his brother committed suicide.
The Bear was renewed for Season 3 back in November, though it’s unclear when production may begin or when the third season may air.
