Brie Larson went sheer daring just a week after a viral moment which saw her breaking down into tears when meeting her acting idol Jennifer Lopez at the Golden Globes.

The 34-year-old Oscar winner looked stunning as always as she strutted her stuff on the red carpet of the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards on Sunday night.

She donned a sheer black gown which showcased her stunning figure at the event held at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, California.

The sleeveless number was black velvet from top to bottom as a sheer skirting was draped down from the chest and back which dragged along the red carpet.

She teamed the eye-catching look with a pair of black leather heels.

The Marvels actress accessorized with a platinum necklace featuring diamonds encrusted all over it along with hanging diamond earrings.

Her blonde locks were pulled back in an elegant bun as she showcased her natural looks with complementary make-up topped off with a swipe of nude lip.

Just last week Brie proved even the A-list can become starstruck at Sunday night’s Golden Globes as she crumbled in the presence of one of her idols.

The Oscar-winning star, who won the Best Actress Academy Award for Room in 2018, hit the red carpet outside the Beverly Hilton where she chatted to Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier – however things soon ground to a halt.

Once Brie spotted Jennifer Lopez, 54, she said: ‘Oh my god, I’m going to cry. I can’t deal with J,Lo’, before the actress and singer reached her and she said: ‘You mean so much to me!’ while Jennifer hugged her and said ”Oh my god, don’t make me cry!’.

Brie went on to reveal to Jennifer’s 1997 Selena Quintanilla biopic Selena was the  reason she became and actress: ‘I saw Selena and it made me want to be an actor and you’ve always meant so much to me.’

As a delighted Jennifer replied: ‘Oh my god, don’t make me cry!’ the two women embraced and wiped tears away in a heartwarming exhange, before Brie and said: ‘I’m going to have to go do a shot of tequila or something’.

During the chat, Brie also said: ‘I just… it’s been a dream of mine, so thank you so much! Your work ethic is so important, thank you.’ Jennifer replied, ‘Thank you, oh, you’re a sweetheart, thank you’. .

After the tearful duo parted ways on the red carpet, Jennifer stated: ”How sweet is that?… It’s amazing that you – she brought up the movie Selena – that so many years later it still touches people. It’s very moving to me too.’

Brie has been candid about her artistic inspiration in the past, having previously revealed that late director John Cassavetes is one of her idols.

She said in October: ‘All his films have continued to inspire me—every aspect of them. He’s one of the only filmmakers where I will put on the DVD just to listen to his commentary. His ideals, his pursuit of the road less travelled…

‘And travelled in a way that is curious, thought-provoking, and dangerous—have always excited me. I take his box set with me to every set. Each film has an incredible backstory and leaves me thinking, How the hell did he pull that off?!’
