As Luke Littler takes the world of darts by storm at the age of 16, footage has resurfaced of NFL star Travis Kelce talking about his love the sport.
Teenager Littler was narrowly beaten in the World Darts Championship final and would have won $600,000 (£500k) in prizemoney if he emerged victorious at Alexandra Palace in London.
And while the sport isn’t commonly seen on television in the United States, Littler’s success has not gone unnoticed.
It has prompted a clip from Travis Kelce’s New Heights episode to resurface where the Kansas City Chiefs star – Taylor Swift’s boyfriend – talks about how much he loves the game after a visit to Germany.
Shared on the New Heights TikTok channel back in November, when the Chiefs had played in Germany against the Dolphins.
A clip of Travis and Jason Kelce has resurfaced amid the World Darts Championship final
Luke Littler has taken the sport by storm in England by reaching the final at the age of 16
‘I saw a few guys playing darts, wanted to get in there and realized quickly I could not f***ing compete with these guys,’ Kelce said to his brother Jason.
‘Real f***Ing good. One thing I have always wanted to do is go to a darts championship in Germany. Oh my god. Dude, have you seen these matches?’.
Jason jokingly shouted ‘180’ back to his brother and said that he’d join Travis at a tournament.
The current championship in London, unfortunately for the Kelce brothers, falls at a bad time for them given the schedule of the NFL season.
They both have one match left in the 17-game regular season this weekend before the playoffs begin.
As for the darts, Littler’s success even caught the eye of Pat McAfee, who praised the teenager on his show on Wednesday.
‘I learned of Luke Littler from somebody that sent me a post. Boom!’ McAfee said with a clip appearing of Littler beating Rob Cross to book his place in Wednesday’s final.
‘This was to send him to final of the World Dart Championship at the Alexandra Palace in London. This dude is 16 years old over there, just beating the hell out of this Cross guy!’.
