With last season’s Super Bowl contenders facing off – including the Kelce brothers – Monday night’s matchup between the Chiefs and Eagles did massive viewing numbers.
Between ESPN, ABC and ESPN2 (which is home to Peyton and Eli Manning’s ‘Manningcast’), the broadcast averaged 28.9million viewers as Philly defeated their hosts 21-17.
As noted by Joe Pompliano, that figure is the highest of any NFL game this season, and is more than any Monday night game in over 25 years.
Even more impressively, those numbers were drawn without Taylor Swift in attendance, as Travis Kelce’s girlfriend had to play a rescheduled show in Rio de Janeiro.
When Swift attended the Chiefs’ win over the Jets in East Rutherford, an average of 27 million viewers tuned in to NBC and Peacock, according to a release from the network at the time.

Taylor Swift’s appearance at MetLife Stadium for Jets-Chiefs drew huge numbers
Swift was joined by celebrity pals Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and more in her suite for that Sunday night game at MetLife Stadium.
Viewership for that game peaked at an estimated 29.4million viewers during the second quarter.
That figure was 2.7million more than the 24.3million who watched Swift cheer on Kelce and the Chiefs for the first time against the Bears in Week 3.
On Monday, according to Nielsen figures cited by SportsMediaWatch, the Chiefs-Eagles game averaged 15.6million viewers on ABC, 11.5million on ESPN and 1.9million on the ‘Manningcast.’
The largest audience of the season before Monday was 27.1million during the Week 9 national window on Fox.
