High-profile newspaper columnist Peter FitzSimons has revealed the ten personality traits of ns that he avoids at all costs on social media.

The husband of TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson got entangled in a slanging match with online trolls after he shared an opinion column written by the Sydney Morning Herald’s chief political correspondent David Crowe slamming former deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce’s campaign against renewable energy projects.

Crowe wrote: ‘ will need renewable energy to supply 82 per cent of its electricity by 2030 if it is to honour its climate targets. That will not happen without more wind turbines, solar farms and power lines.’

But one Aussie was not impressed with Mr FitzSimons sharing the column.

‘He’s right [Barnaby] more often than you, the woke leftie pirate!’, the critic fired back at him.

FitzSimons hit back and revealed that he blocks many Aussies with certain personality traits, including ‘climate change deniers’.

‘It’s all so tragically predictable,’ he wrote on social media.

‘You go into their feed, & reel them off.

‘Abusive to all & sundry? Tick.

‘Climate change denier? Tick. Anti-vaxx nutter? Tick.

‘Anti-Trans? Tick. Anti-ABC? Tick. Barely literate? Tick. Racist and sexist? Ticks.

‘All of them, rebels without a clue.’

FitzSimons later added as ‘lonely as a small sparrow’, a ‘fanboy of Elon Musk’ and ‘anonymous as a lost dog’ to the list after receiving feedback from like-minded fans.

Many of FitzSimons’ 138,000 followers were quick to agree.

‘It’s like their Venn diagram has a black hole at the centre, and they all collapse into the same identity,’ one wrote.

‘They NEVER have an argument, nor a debating point, as you allude, it’s straight to the abuse ‘ another added.

But not everyone was on board with FitzSimons’ stereotyping.

‘Stinky Pete, hitting down and kicking ladders again, must suck being a rich entitled white inner city socialist virtue signaller, what’s your contribution comrade?’ one asked.

Others accused him of deriding everyone who disagreed with his worldview.

‘We get the message… apparently you have absolute intellectual and moral authority. because you played rugby and wear a bandanna,’ one joked.

In addition to his incessant social media use, FitzSimons is a prolific author and has written non-fiction for 35 years.

Publisher Hachette released his latest book about n history, The Last Charge of the n Light Horse, in November last year.

Meanwhile, FitzSimons’ wife – journalist and TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson – has been in the spotlight recently in the Federal Court, where Bruce Lehrmann is suing her and The Project for defamation over her reporting of Brittany Higgins’ allegations.

The media power couple have three children and live in Sydney’s north.

Their daughter Billi has just been promoted to the role of editor-in-chief of Instagram-based news site, The Daily Aus.
